Wroomy
Wroomy is a digital car book designed for car enthusiasts of all ages. The website allows users to browse car images by body type.
Project Overview
The idea for the project came from my 5-year-old godson, who is a big fan of cars and inspired me to build something fun, visual, and interactive.
The site allows users to browse car images by body type and explore different categories of vehicles.
While the primary target audience is children, he site also offers enjoyable and engaging content for adults.
The main goal of the website is to provide children with an easy-to-use, entertaining,
and visually appealing experience that combines learning and fun in the world of cars.
Technical Implementation
Wroomy was built with responsive design and a mobile-first approach to ensure it works smoothly on different devices.
I used a free Bootstrap template as the base and customized the layout and styling extensively to create a unique look and feel.
The site’s JavaScript functionality was developed using AI-assisted code generation, which allowed me to focus on defining features,
validating logic, and integrating the scripts into a cohesive, user-friendly experience.
API Integration Strategy
As a data source, I used a free Cars Database with Images API. Due to the API’s monthly request limits, many images are preloaded to ensure a smoother user experience while minimizing API calls.
Future Enhancements
Planned future features include adding a favorites list where users can save their favorite cars, and a “Guess the Car” game that challenges users to identify car models based on images.
